The Alternative Bathroom Company buys two shops from Colourwash
A management buyout team led by David Jones has successfully bought, from Colourwash Limited, the two Colourwash shops Chamberlayne Road, Ealing Road and a distribution warehouse in Brentford. The purchase was finalized on Friday 26th March
The purchase brings back together the original Colourwash team of David Jones, Jane Gilchriest and Brian Gilchriest who sold Colourwash to Gary Lake in 2001. The two shops will be rebranded as The Alternative Bathroom Company while continuing to address the middle and upper market which David and Jane have sold to since 1983 when they founded Pipe Dreams in Primrose Hill. Colin Kirkpatrick formerly Commercial Director at Colourwash is the Managing Director of the new enterprise.
Colin said that the team was “Delighted to offer London an exciting alternative to its existing bathroom retail options. David and Jane’s ethos was to offer excellent products and customer service and this team are passionate to represent that in every Alternative Bathroom Company shop”.
When asked what direction the new company will take Chairman David Jones replied “We will continue to do what we are good at and hopefully repeat our previous successes. We look forward to building new and strong relationships with our suppliers; we have done business with many of them since the 1980s so our reputation is well known to many.
David Jones has agreed with Charco 2010 the owners of CP Hart who have simultaneously purchased the rest of Colourwash Bathrooms Ltd to work with them in a part time non executive role to help smooth the transition
